The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr John Kayode Fayemi has distinguished himself as one of the few Governors in Nigeria who through their acts and deeds motivate, lure, push and bring the best out of the youths.
This positive posture played itself out last Monday in the Ekiti State Governor's office Ado Ekiti, where Governor Fayemi received Mr Remi Agbetuyi, who innovated on Ayo Arin, a traditional game bequeathed to the people of Ekiti by their forefathers by designing TabuArin, a convenient platform of playing the game
Mr Agbetuyi, a native of Usi Ekiti said he was propelled to innovate on Ayo Arin by the life-changing motivational engagements of Dr Fayemi who always tasks the youth of Ekiti to think outside the box and add value to society.
He disclosed that his journey to the innovation and designing of TabuArin was stoked when he visited the former Director-General, Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture, Ambassador Wale Ojo - Lanre, in his office then at the Ekiti State Cultural Centre where he saw members of his team playing Ayo Arin on the floor as it used to be played.
Mr Agbetuyi revealed that Ambassador Ojo - Lanre informed that Governor Fayemi was interested in not only resuscitating traditional games which are heading into extinction for cross-generations sustainability but interested in innovation that would place these games on intercontinental competitive platforms.
" This push got the better part of me and I recoiled into my inner recess and came out with this TabuArin and wrote a book on it '
Mr Agbetuyi disclosed that TabuArin was designed in cognizance and alignment with international rules for games and sports.
Mr Agbetuyi thanked Governor Fayemi for creating a conducive atmosphere in Ekiti for the germination of ideas and creativity particularly from the youth.
He pointed out that Governor Fayemi's appointees, the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism, Prof Rasaki Ojo - Bakare and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism Development, Ambassador Wale Ojo - Lanre have been wonderful in their support and encouragement on the development of TabuArin.

He tasked Ekiti youths on the need to emulate add value and enhance the cultural - tourism assets of Ekiti State
Governor Fayemi said he was impressed not only by the design of the TabuArin but also by creating resource material on the innovation.
He directed Mr Agbetuyi to liaise with the Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Hon Michael Awopetu and the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare for the public unveiling of TabuArin.
