Ekiti-State Government guarantees partnership with Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) set to host AGM in July 13th-15th, 2023


Ekiti-State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji met with the National Leadership of National Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) led by the National President Mrs Ime Udo and South West President Otunba Michael Balogun towards Ekiti State Hosting of Year 2023 NATOP AGM with the Theme: TOURISM AND GREEN INVESTMENT IN NIGERIA.

The meeting with the Ekiti-State's new tourism bride was attended by the Special Adviser Investment, Trade & Industry Hon. Mrs Tayo Adeola, DG Ekiti State Development &  Investment Promotion Agency (EKDIPA) Mr. Ayo Aribidara, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Art, Culture & Tourism Mr Ogunsemoyin and other directors of the ministry.


The Ekiti-State coordinator, Ògbéni Babájídé Fajuyi, Erelú Funmi Rotiba the Oyo-State coordinator and Wumi Debi the Ekiti-State secretary were also in attendance.

Governor Oyebanji while welcoming the NATOP team disclosed that his administration is committed towards providing an enabling environment for investment in tourism and this is visible with the development at Ikogosi Warm spring resort, also stating that the development of art culture and tourism is one of his government pillars.

The Governor assured the NATOP team of the state acceptance for the 2023 AGM and gave the Committee two weeks ultimatum to give him a road-map for a successful hosting of the event.


“It is an avenue to showcase Ekiti-State's art, culture and tourism potentials and also promote domestic tourism as a whole in Nigeria. The states ecotourism, wellness and active tourism has huge potentials not forgetting the cultural heritage”, Udo concluded.

NATOP IS THE  UMBRELLA BODY FOR ALL TOUR OPERATORS IN NIGERIA AND WAS FOUNDED IN 2013.

NATOP is devoted to developmental issues such as polices, advocacy, promotion, and marketing as well as development of tour destinations and attractions, while also seeking to enable safe environment and operating conditions for business of its members.
