PRESS RELEASE FROM NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TOUR OPERATOR IN NIGERIA, EKITI-STATE CHAPTER
The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Ekiti-State Chapter endorses the Ekiti-State International Theatre Festival coming up on August 20th-25th, 2025. and FTAN also urges industry-wide support for the Festival.
Today, FTAN, Ekiti-State Chapter announced its full support for the upcoming event, scheduled to take place at the Obafemi Awolowo Civic & Conventional Center in Ado-Ekiti and the Ample Theater at the Prestigious Ikogosi Warm Spring.
FTAN recognizes the events starting from August 21st to 25th, 2025 as a developmental opportunity to showcase the rich tourism potentials of Ekiti State and boost the indigenous economy of Ekiti-State. "This year's International Theatre Festival will be a big booster towards tourism promotion and development of our dear State" said Dr. Abioye Adedipe, the Ekiti-State coordinator of FTAN. He further said that "the Festival will be a significant platform for exploring cultural heritage, natural beauty, local crafts and attracting both local and international visitors from across Nigeria and beyond. We also, believe that the involvement of FTAN members will greatly enrich the event, offering valuable networking opportunities, industry insights, and exposure to Ekiti State tourism potentials. The participation of tourism profession" . The State FTAN is already working closely with the event organizers to ensure its success."
We are already actively involved in the promotion of the festival to over twenty tourism different member associations. FTAN is confident that the event will lead to increased tourism activities, benefiting hotels, tour operators, restaurants, and other tourism-related businesses in Ekiti state.
"This event aligns perfectly with our mission to promote sustainable tourism development and enhance the overall visitors' experiences in Ekiti State" added Ogbeni Babajide Fajuyi (the FTAN Ekiti-State secretary). He further emphasized the importance of collaboration between the association, event organizers and government agencies to maximize the positive impact of Ekiti-State International Theatre Festival.
FTAN, the umbrella body of all the Tourism Associations in Nigeria will encourage all its members and stakeholders to actively participate in and support the International Theatre Festival. The association believes that by working together, they can make the festival a resounding success, contributing to a thriving tourism sector in Ekiti State.
The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) is the umbrella body that represents the private sector in the Tourism and Tourism related Businesses in Nigeria. The Federation was established in 1997 to facilitate liaison between government agencies and the organized private sector in Nigeria.
The FTAN Ekiti State Chapter felicitates with the newly elected President of Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Dr. Aliyu Badaki and his new cabinet. The President of FTAN pledged to reposition the Federation and revive Nigeria’s tourism sector through a new initiative tagged Tourism Transformation Movement (TTM).
